Mental Health and Violent Crimes in the U.S.

Using a multiple linear regression analysis to quantify the effects of two social variables, (1) poor mental health and (2) police per capita, on violent crime rates per 100,000 residents in U.S. states in 2022. The results indicate that both factors significantly influence violent crime rates. The findings underscore the importance of addressing mental health issues and considering optimal law enforcement strategies to mitigate crime effectively.
